Places to Ride

Saratoga, New York, Europe...

The bike chain needs to be clean, and free of dirt and oil. Wet is preferred because HappyChain works best with a clean wet chain.

Clean the bike chain to remove dirt and oil. Many companies make degreaser for this operation. Twist the chain with your fingers and feel if there is a crunchy gritty feeling, clean again if necessary. HappyChain lube is not a degreaser, it is just barely able to be washed out with water, and will have trouble washing off if the chain had excessive oil to begin with.

Rinse your bike chain with water, then follow the steps on the How To Use page, starting at the picture below. Do not allow your chain to dry before the next steps, as your chain could rust. HappyChain has rust inhibitors to prevent rust and work with water.

New Chains: If you have a new chain, we suggest riding the new chain, enjoy that new chain feeling, and start the HappyChain process the first time you clean the chain. You can also strip the new chain and start immediatly.
